Hey heeyyy! I’m in my late 20s and currently work full time, Monday – Friday, in a place with very few windows. I do love what I do, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my days… I work with a lot of very smart people doing some really cool things, but as with any job, there are also a few not-so-smart people mixed in that tend to make the job a bit more painful than necessary, at times.
I love being crafty, whether that be sewing, painting, or window shopping through fashion stores and websites that I can’t quite afford. I have a desire to start building some pieces furniture myself, as well, but haven’t quite taken the plunge into that department just yet.
I grew up in a Christian home, one of 3 girls (I’m the middle child, for better or worse) and am actually a Pastor’s kid. My biggest passion is music – I not only thoroughly enjoy listening to and learning new music, but I actually sing and occasionally write a thing or two from time to time.
I’m an aspiring mother, and hope to someday be able to stay at home as a full-time mother and wife, but for now am happy to be gainfully employed and able to support my crafting habits, lack of fashion sense, and spontaneously adventurous spirit.
My husband, whom I affectionately refer to as Studly, is a Consultant with a big company and actually works at the same place that I do, though he’s in a different office and does different work than I do.
He served in the United States Air Force for almost 6 years until he was medically retired and subsequently separated due to having Crohn’s Disease, which he now has under control thanks to some amazing doctors and awesome medication.
He loves allll things football, but none more than the Dallas Cowboys, and the good ole Oklahoma Sooners… Booommmerrrrr!! As with most guys, he also enjoys his video games on occasion and definitely makes me laugh aallll the time. He’s my favorite.
My pup! He’s a 6-year old German Shortaired Pointer, and there is never a dull moment with this guy. Never! He’s a bucket full of energy and he seriously has more personality than I think I’ve ever seen in a dog before.
He’s obsessed with his ball, and expects to have your attention at least 70% of the time you’re around him. If you don’t meet his expectations, he’ll throw in a dramatic sigh and even a low grumble to show his dissatisfaction. Yes, seriously.
Studly and I have been married for 6 years and brought Austin home only a few weeks after we returned from our honeymoon. Marriage is not for the feignt of heart, but I’m so very blessed to have someone who’s willing to tough it out with me and learn together through the hard times, which has only made us stronger with each day.
We are hoping to grow our family, whether by conceiving or through adoption, very soon. The only reason it’s not a “yesterday” kind of thing becuase 1) we’ve had some trouble conceiving, and 2) we plan to move.
Our goal is to move to Texas within the next year and we’ve made quite a few strides toward making that a real possibility. Now, it’s just time to hurry up and wait.
Well, that about sums us up. It’s nothing glamorous, but we’re happy, and that’s really all that matters.
